🏘️ A Glimpse into Lynn’s Past
- Early Roots: Before Lynn was officially named, the area was known as Larissa, with a post office established in 1857. It later became known as Black Swamp due to the nearby wetlands.
- Railroad Era: In 1888, John White Lynn donated land for a railroad right-of-way and depot, leading to the town being named in hi

- Railroad Era: In 1888, John White Lynn donated land for a railroad right-of-way and depot, leading to the town being named in his honor. The arrival of the railroad spurred growth in mining and lumber industries.
- Education & Community: Lynn’s first school was a one-room frame building. Over the decades, the town rebuilt and expanded its schools, even recovering from fires in 1924, 1964, and 1969.
- Incorporation: Lynn officially became a town in April 1952, and has maintained its small-town charm while supporting local industry and education.
